Tickets Available for KY Horse Farm Tours

Tickets are now available for horse farm tours during the KentuckyOne Health Breeders' Cup Festival Week Oct. 24-31 in Lexington. The Breeders' Cup World Championships will be held Oct. 30-31 at Keeneland Race Course.
 
The tours include Kentucky's stallion operations, veterinary clinics, and other facilities. Attendees will hear the stories of Breeders' Cup champions, and meet the sires, dams, and siblings of some of this year's Breeders' Cup runners and maybe the champions themselves.Ticket information is available here.
 
"The Thoroughbred farms of Central Kentucky are one of the greatest assets we have, and we're thrilled to be able to share them with our guests and community during the Breeders' Cup Festival Week," said Laura Prewitt, executive director of the Breeders' Cup Festival.
 
Tour participants will tour two Thoroughbred locations and receive gift bags, photo ops, and transportation from the central departure location of The Red Mile harness track. Various locations and pairings are available Sunday, Oct. 25 in the afternoon and Monday, Oct. 26-Wednesday, Oct. 28 during the mornings and afternoons. Tickets are $65 for adults and $35 for kids under 12, with a portion of proceeds donated to charitable causes that support the horses, land, and people of the Central Kentucky region, according to a release.
 
"It is a tremendous honor to welcome the world to Keeneland and the Bluegrass for the 2015 Breeders' Cup. As many of the runners have ties to Kentucky, we look forward to sharing their stories, along with showcasing previous champions, while welcoming guests from all over the world to our farms, clinics, and feed mills," said Price H. Bell Jr. of Mill Ridge Farm and Nicoma Bloodstock.
 
Bell is also the board president Horse Country, Inc., a not-for-profit organization that is providing the tours.
