With just more than two weeks to go before American Pharoah's scheduled return in the $1 million William Hill Haskell Invitational Stakes (gr. I) Aug. 2 at Monmouth Park, the field of competitors to face the Triple Crown winner is taking shape.
Monmouth reports as probable either grade I winner Competitive Edge or recent Long Branch Stakes winner Stanford from the barn of trainer Todd Pletcher, Mr. Jordan, who won the Pegasus Stakes (gr. III) June 21 at Monmouth; Pegasus Stakes runner-up Tekton, and multiple graded stakes-placed War Story.

Other possible entrants include Belmont Stakes (gr. I) third-place finisher Keen Ice, Iowa Derby (gr. III) winner Bent On Bourbon, and Good Pick Nick, who finished third in the Pegasus.
The Haskell will be telecast live from 5-6 p.m. EDT on NBC. Post time for the Haskell is scheduled for 5:52 p.m. and will be race 12 on the day's 14-race card. Gates will open up at 9 a.m., with first post listed at 11:30 a.m.
