Jockey Edgard Zayas is expected to miss four to six weeks with a broken collarbone, his agent Tito Fuentes said the morning of July 18.

Zayas, who took last year's summer riding title at Gulfstream Park and the fall title at Gulfstream Park West, was unseated during the running of the ninth race at Gulfstream July 17. Zayas, tied for the lead in victories at the current meet with Juan Leyva, Jose Caraballo, and Eddie Castro, missed five weeks during the spring meet with a fractured right hand.

"He's out for four to six weeks, but he doesn't need surgery," Fuentes said.

Jonathan Gonzales, who was also involved in the spill with Zayas, took off his Saturday mounts because of soreness.

Zayas was riding Lloyd Harbor in Friday's ninth race when his mount fell about a half-mile into the 7 1/2-furlong turf race. Gonzales's mount, Nocturnal Q fell over the fallen rival. Lloyd Harbor was vanned off and was euthanized.

Jockey Harry Hernandez, who fractured his nose Friday when he was unseated at the start of the seventh race, was cleared to ride Saturday.
