Hammers Vision First Winner for Court Vision

Description:

First-time starter Hammers Vision won the fifth race at Belmont Park July 19 and became the first winner for five-time group I winner and Canadian stallion Court Vision  .

Court Vision, a 10-year-old son of Gulch—Weekend Storm, by Storm Bird, stands as the property of Spendthrift Farm at Park Stud, Orangeville, Ontario, where he commanded a CAN$7,500 fee in 2015. He is the first stallion to be offered to Canadian breeders through Spendthrift's Share The Upside Program. Court Vision has 53 2-year-olds in his first crop.

Hammers Vision, trained by Brian Lynch for Terry Hamilton, overtook the front-runner in the closing stages after chasing the early pace from fourth and edged away to a 1 3/4-length victory in 1:08.99 for the six-furlong maiden special weight race on the inner turf course. Bred in Ontario by Donver Stable from the Forestry mare Baytree, the colt was the $47,000 purchase by agent Ciaran Dunne at the 2014 Fasig-Tipon Kentucky October yearling sale.

Court Vision, who is from the same family as A.P. Indy and Summer Squall, compiled a 9-4-4 record from 31 career starts and earned more than $3.7 million. His major win came in the 2011 Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT).
