Description:

Philip S. Birsh's homebred Tencendur, runner-up in the Twinspires.com Wood Memorial (gr. I) and Ohio Derby, will be sidelined indefinitely as a result of a fracture in the left front inside sesamoid.

"We will bring him back, if possible," trainer George Weaver said of the 3-year-old son of Warrior's Reward  .

Weaver said the timeframe for the New York-bred colt's return would not be known until he underwent surgery to remove the sesamoid fragment.

"We are optimistic that he will come back fine," Weaver said.

Ridden by Jose Ortiz in the Wood, Tencendur stalked the early pace before moving three-wide to gain the lead but lost by two lengths in the race won by Frosted. In the June 20 Ohio Derby, Tencendur stalked Mr. Z early and tried to pass the eventual winner down the lane before coming up just a nose short.
