The mighty Gimme a Nother  recently confirmed herself as a leading contender for big races in the United States this year when she ran second in the Hillsborough Stakes (G2) at Tampa Bay Downs. Undefeated in South Africa, champion Gimme a Nother tried gallantly but just fell short of catching Saffron Moon  at the finish.

Named Equus champion 3-year-old filly of 2023-24, the daughter of Gimmethegreenlight  went unbeaten in seven starts in South Africa, where Gimme a Nother's graded victories included both the 2024 TAB Empress Club Stakes (G1) and 2024 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic (G1).

Mauritzfontein, who own the Wilgerbosdrift and Mauritzfontein bred Gimme a Nother, will be offering buyers a chance to find the next Gimme a Nother when they bring a classy draft to the 2025 National Yearling Sale, April 10-11.

Stallions represented in this draft include resident sire and Japanese champion Danon Platina, as well as the likes of Gimmethegreenlight, Hawwaam, Malmoos, and What A Winter .

Multiple champion sire Gimmethegreenlight, the sire of, among many others, the aforementioned Gimme a Nother, is responsible for regally bred colt Gimme Some Luck (Lot 274). A half brother to three winners including listed Syringa Handicap winner Ululate, Gimme Some Luck is out of Shauntrel, a four-time winning Shamardal half sister to the stakes-winning dam of multiple graded stakes winner Free Wind . Gimme Some Luck, a colt with a stallion's pedigree, hails from the same female line as legendary sire Dubawi and Breeders' Cup Turf (G1T) hero In The Wings, among many others.

Gimmethegreenlight is also responsible for Madison County (Lot 193), a filly out of the multiple stakes-winning mare Meryl, and this filly is bred on the same Gimmethegreenlight/Tiger Ridge cross as Gimme a Nother.

The Captain Al sired Triple Crown winner Malmoos is represented here by Rushing Rapid (Lot 24), a filly from the family of graded stakes winners Hundred Acre Wood, Syon and Tippuana Moon, while Theodore Roosevelt (Lot 60) is a What A Winter full brother to two winners whose grand dam is a stakes winning full sister to multiple Australian grade 1 winner Flamberge .

Champion Danon Platina, whose progeny include such graded stakes winners as Great Plains and White Pearl, is well represented here. Shining Sun (Lot 16) is a half brother to smart galloper Forever Mine and multiple stakes winner Joy And Peace, with the latter named the Eastern Cape's Horse Of The Season in 2023-24.

Another well bred Danon Platina colt is Masolino (Lot 107), whose three time winning dam is a daughter of speedy dual grade 3 winner Franny, while Danon Platina colt Count Of Capri (Lot 3) (offered on behalf of Mike Sharkey) is half brother to five winners including Lebelo Sprint (G3) winner Anna Capri.

This draft can be found in Blocks F and H at the TBA Complex in Germiston.
