After entering the Kentucky Derby (G1) as the favorite with Journalism , trainer Michael McCarthy finds himself in a familiar position in the Preakness Stakes (G1) May 17 at Pimlico Race Course.
A heavy favorite to win the second leg of the Triple Crown, McCarthy doesn't mind having a target on his back.
"I think it's a great spot to be in," he said. "You know, I would have liked to have been talking to you guys with Derby win under my belt, but it's a tough race to win. Any of these Triple Crown races, they're not easy to win. So we've brought a horse here, and it seems like he's good enough to get the job done."
