Love Cervere wins the Take The A Train Stakes at Aqueduct Racetrack

Love Cervere , last-out winner of the Take The A Train Stakes at Aqueduct Racetrack, will take on a field of nine other 3-year-old fillies in the $175,000 Soaring Softy Stakes (G3T) at Saratoga Race Course June 8. Among the entries for the 5 1/2-furlong turf sprint is runner-up in the Take The A Train—Hey Bertie .

Love Cervere will make her first start under trainer Miguel Clement, as he recently took over the operation from his late father, Christophe Clement. The 3-year-old daughter of Into Mischief   will break from post 1 under Joel Rosario for owners Edward Seltzer, Beverly Anderson, and Reeves Thoroughbred Racing. Clement will also send out Gainesway Stable and LNJ Foxwood's Make Haste .

Clement said Love Cervere has prepared well for Sunday's test.

"She worked very well," Clement said of her half-mile work in :49.90 June 1 over the Oklahoma Training Track.

Klein Racing's homebred Hey Bertie, who finished a heartbreaking second in the final strides of the Take The A Train, looks to rebound from that effort. Javier Castellano will be in the irons.

The daughter of Kantharos   should fare well with the cutback in distance according to trainer Cherie DeVaux. She has won twice at this distance.

"The cutback is fine," DeVaux said. "She's a neat filly. She's easy to train."

Prior to her second-place finish in the Take The A Train, the filly won a maiden special weight, and an allowance optional claiming race, both at Fair Grounds Grounds Race Course & Slots.

TAG Stables' Spirited Boss  will look for her first graded stakes win Sunday. She most recently finished a game second in the Honey Ryder Stakes at Gulfstream Park. Prior to that, she won the Sanibel Island Stakes March 29. John Velazquez will ride for trainer Jose Francisco D'Angelo.

D'Angelo also sends out graded stakes-placed Cloe , who ran third in the Senorita Stakes (G3T) April 27 at Santa Anita Park.

Multiple stakes winner Brindi  looks for her third consecutive stakes win for owner Robert Evans and trainer Kelsey Danner. She comes off back-to-back stakes wins at Woodbine this spring.

Also entered is Abientot , the sole graded stakes winner in the field. The 2024 Matron Stakes (G3T) winner is coming off a disappointing ninth-place finish in the Mamzelle Stakes (G3T) at Churchill Downs May 10 for trainer Mark Casse. She ran third in her sophomore debut in the April 11 Limestone Stakes at Keeneland. Dylan Davis will ride for owner Tracy Farmer.
