It's only fitting that 2021 Florida Derby (G1) winner and Spendthrift Farm stallion Known Agenda 's first winner would come at the site of his most important victory, and that is what unfolded June 19 as Pure Eloquence impressively conquered seven rivals in a Gulfstream Park maiden race.
The victory came on a different surface from her sire's notable triumph with Pure Eloquence rocketing around the turf course on the lead beneath jockey Edwin Gonzalez, smoking her rivals by five lengths while completing five furlongs in :55.92.
Trained by Jack Sisterson and owned by David Grund and JWS Racing, the 2-year-old filly was bred in Kentucky by Paul Farr's Titletown Racing Stables. The debut winner is out of the unraced Kitten's Joy mare Lily Margaret .
On the racetrack, Known Agenda tangled with the best of the 2021 3-year-old crop on racing's biggest stages. Winning at second asking, the son of Curlin showed early promise by completing his juvenile season with a third-place finish in the Remsen Stakes (G2) at Aqueduct Racetrack.
The talent of the St. Elias Stables homebred was harnessed in the spring of his 3-year-old season by Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher as he won a Gulfstream Park allowance optional claimer to set up his 2 3/4-length triumph in the Florida Derby. He would then go on to run eighth in the Kentucky Derby (G1) and fourth in the Belmont Stakes (G1), retiring with $641,700 in purse earnings and a record of 3-1-1 from eight starts.
Known Agenda stands the 2025 season for a $5,000 fee at Spendthrift Farm near Lexington.
