Most Inspiring First Winner for Gio Ponti

Three-time champion Gio Ponti   was represented by his first winner July 31 when Most Inspiring won the fifth race Woodbine. The juvenile filly went six furlongs on the turf in 1:10.36 in her debut effort, winning a $46,600 maiden special weight race by 3 1/4 lengths.



Most Inspiring races for Derek Chin and is trained by Danny Vella. Bred in Virginia by Corner Farm and John Behrendt, the gray/roan filly was a $57,000 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October sale yearling from the Bluegrass Thoroughbred Services consignment.



Most Inspiring is out of the Secret Hello mare Chemise and is a half sister to four stakes winners, including graded stakes-placed Hello Lover.



Gio Ponti stands at Castleton Lyons near Lexington where his 2015 fee was $15,000. Healso stood a season at Arrowfield Stud in Australia.

By Tale of the Cat  Chipeta Springs, by Alydar, Gio Ponti was champion older male and champion turf male of 2009 and was champion turf male in 2010. He won 12 of 29 starts and earned $6,169,800 in six seasons on the track. His seven grade I wins include the Arlington Million Stakes, Man o' War Stakes (twice), Shadwell Turf Mile Stakes (twice), and Woodford Reserve Manhattan Handicap. He also finished second in the 2009 Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) and the 2010 TVG Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT).
