The New York Racing Association reports a strong start to the first quarter of the 40-date Saratoga Race Course meet.
For the first ten days of Saratoga, on-track handle on NYRA races is up 19% and total handle is up 18.3% over 2014 figures. Field size is also up 9.2% over last year.
Overall, $159,069,264 has been wagered on NYRA races through the first quarter of the Saratoga meet, compared with $134,495,128 in 2014; an increase of more than $24.5 million. The meet is enjoying an average of $15,906,926 in total handle per day, including $3,906,860 on-track.
