America’s Best Racing and BetAmerica team up to provide horseplayers with their best bets of the weekend in a regular feature blog that will run on Fridays.
Each week, one of our crack handicappers - Jose Contreras, Dan Tordjman, Victoria Garofalo, Mike Johnson or Vince Mathews – will provide at least one “Best Bet” of the weekend, ideal for a win bet. The post also will include some combination of additional bets for the weekend.
For some posts, our handicappers will try to identify a longshot play of the weekend, a nice opportunity to swing for the fences on a win bet or to take a shot with a show bet.
Our handicappers also will look for strong exacta plays for the weekend or occasionally try to spot a nice opportunity for other wagers.
Place your bets at BetAmerica, which prides itself on outstanding customer service combined with the safety and security of wagering with a reputable advance-deposit wagering platform. Place your bets and you can walk away with some extra cash in your pocket.

BEST BET/WIN BET
Del Mar, Race 6, 4:40 p.m. ET
#9 The Gomper: He finished a good second in his first turf try in a competitive field of 11 back in June at Santa Anita Park. There are a few speed horses in here that might set it up for his closing style. Leading rider Rafael Bejarano returns to ride again, and The Gomper looks to be headed the right way.
EXACTA BOX
Saratoga Race Course, Race 7, $100,000 Fasig-Tipton De La Rose Stakes, 4:33 p.m. ET
#2 Tuttipaesi: She will be making her second start of 2015 for a trainer who is off to a great start of the meet. She has some past class and has shown she can win off the layoff. Tuttipaesi can be a contender if she finds some of her previous talent.
#5 Recepta: This filly has a number of previous efforts that fit well in this spot. Her most recent win was back in April at Keeneland with this jockey aboard. She has been working well since arriving to Saratoga.
#7 Token of Love: Comes off her first U.S. win at Belmont Park when closing from the back of the pack into a fast pace. She has never been off the board in four tries at this distance and she looks to be getting better with each start.
#11 Ticking Katie: She made her U.S. debut a winning one despite stumbling at the break. She has finished in the top three in 12 of her 16 lifetime starts. I think she’s ready to fire another big effort.

BEST BET/WIN BET
Saratoga Race Course, Race 9, $100,000 Alydar Stakes, 5:50 p.m. ET
#1 Bay of Plenty: Tried too tough of a field last time out in the Grade 1 Met Mile when fading to ninth in a field of 10. He’s in a much better spot today and has won four of his last six starts. He might be able to take them wire to wire from his inside post.

#5 Miss Gifted: She turned in a terrific run in her debut when closing from dead last to win easily going away. She lacks the experience of some of these, but she looks to have plenty of room to improve.
#7 Pammy Whammy: She broke her maiden in a route race that was scheduled to be on the turf but was later moved to the main track after rain. She has tried the turf before and looks to have enough speed to establish a good early position.
#8 Moyo Honey: She will be trying the turf for the first time, but she has a bit of pedigree that suggests she might enjoy the grass. She’s shown talent in both of her starts, and I think she will have no problem stretching out to this longer distance for the first time.
