Sam Britt and Michael House's Gabriel Charles will not run in the Arlington Million (gr. IT) after being rushed into emergency colic surgery Aug. 8 at San Luis Rey Equine Hospital in Bonsall, Calif.
Trained by Jeff Mullins, the 5-year-old son of Street Hero had been pre-entered in the Million just two days prior.
A grade I winner last time out, when he took the Eddie Read Stakes by 3 3/4 lengths July 18 at Del Mar, Gabriel Charles was expected to go to post as one of the possible favorites at Arlington International Racecourse based on his recent form.
