Mike Repole has already made a huge splash in business, horse racing, and college basketball.
Next is football.
The United Football League announced July 31 that Repole has become part of the league's ownership, joining forces with RedBird Capital, FOX, ESPN, Dany Garcia, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Repole, who the league has dubbed "The Billion-Dollar Brand Builder," will lead the league's business operations through his private equity firm, Impact Capital.
"The UFL is thrilled to welcome a visionary like Mike Repole to our ownership group," said the UFL's Russ Brandon, CEO and president of the spring league. "Mike's entrepreneurial accomplishments are extraordinary, and his dynamic leadership will immediately elevate the league's business and brand trajectory."
Repole, who operates Repole Stable and is expected to send out 2023 Eclipse Award winner Fierceness in the Aug. 2 Whitney Stakes (G1) at Saratoga Race Course, said the timing was right to put his energy behind the UFL.
"Football has clearly established itself as America's most popular sport, with tremendous momentum and demand," Repole said. "There's no better time than now to build a strong, sustainable spring league that unites players, teams, and fans. I'm honored to join the United Football League's ownership group as we work to create something truly lasting and game-changing."
The UFL began play in 2024. The DC Defenders won the league's 2025 title.
