It's a Factum aced the second race at Hastings Racecourse Aug. 9, going gate to wire to become the first winner for young Florida stallion Factum  , a half brother to prominent sire War Front  
 
A 7-year-old son of Storm Cat, Factum stood for a 2015 fee of $10,000 at Stonehedge Farm South near Williston. There are 19 2-year-olds in his first crop. 
 
Factum's dam is stakes winner Starry Dreamer, a daughter of Rubiano who was grade I-placed. In addition to Factum, she produced grade II winners War Front and Teammate, both grade I-placed; grade III winner Ecclesiastic; and grade III-place stakes winner Riviera Cocktail
 
James Redekop's It's a Factum cleared the field nearing the final turn and continued on to a 1 1/4-length victory for trainer Anita Bolton and finished six furlongs in 1:13.51. She was bred in Florida by William F. Murphy and Annabel Murphy. Produced by the Valid Appeal mare Really Appealing, the filly was a $32,000 purchase by agent Joseph Brocklebank at the 2014 Keeneland September yearling sale, where Hunter Valley Farm consigned.
