Are You Kidding Me Serious in Sky Classic

Are You Kidding Me stretches out to 10 furlongs in the Sky Classic after winning the  1 1/8-mile Nijinsky Stakes (gr. IIT) and the 1 1/16-mile Eclipse Stakes (gr. II), the latter over Woodbine's Polytrack. The stalking style of Are You Kidding Me should put him close to the lead in a field that doesn't show much speed on paper. He has won twice with two seconds in six spins around the Woodbine turf. 

 

Mr Speaker seeks to get back to his winning ways in stakes company. He won last year's edition of the Belmont Derby (gr. IT) at 10 furlongs with an off-the-pace rush. He then went on to lose four consecutive races, before regaining his mojo in an allowance optional claiming victory last out. This will be his first start at Woodbine. 

 

Aldous Snow is shortening up in the Sky Classic. He won the 1 1/2 -mile Singspiel Stakes (gr. IIIT) last out after a series of convincing defeats, including a sixth-place finish in last year's Sky Classic. He was kept much closer to the pace in the Singspiel and paid off on those tactics. 

 

Golden Sabre finished a half-length behind Are You Kidding Me in the Nijinsky, after encountering trouble in the stretch. He, too, has shown more early lick in his two most recent races and has won twice in six starts on the Woodbine grass. Sky Flight won the Tropical Park Derby late last year and began 2015 rolling back-to-back thirds in the Tampa Bay Derby (gr. IIIT) and Firecracker Stakes (gr. IIT) to highly-regarded Lochte and Departing, respectively.

 

Interpol landed in fifth in the Nijinsky but is proven at longer distances. Last year he ran second in the Breeders Stakes at 12 furlongs and then broke his maiden at that distance at Woodbine. He could find himself on the lead early here.
