Description:
Travers Stakes (gr. I) hopeful Texas Red and Team Texas Red will partner with Richard Rawlings of Gas Monkey Garage and star of Discovery Channel's "Fast N' Loud" for Saturday's race.

The partnership will consist of onsite branding on horse clothing, as well as Hall of Fame jockey Kent Desormeaux, stable employees, and the ownership partners—Erich Brehm, Wayne Detmar, Lee Michaels, and trainer Keith Desormeaux, et al.

Rawlings will have his production crew on-site to film exclusive, behind-the-scenes footage with Team Texas Red with a planned inclusion on an upcoming episode of the popular series "Fast N' Loud".

"Texas Red competing in the oldest horse race in North America is an incredible opportunity," said Brehm, spokesperson for the Texas Red ownership group. "Richard Rawlings of Gas Monkey Garage offers a partnership that aligns our passion for going "Fast N' Loud."  We've always had a lot of respect for Richard and what he represents, and are more than excited to be partnered with him for what we expect to be a historic race."

Kent Desormeaux will fly in from California to ride Texas Red when the colt takes on Triple Crown winner American Pharoah in the 146th edition of the Travers Stakes. Winner of the 2014 Sentient Jet Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I), Texas Red was an early Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) favorite before being sidelined with a foot injury.

A son of Afleet Alex  , Texas Red won the Jim Dandy Stakes (gr. II) Aug. 1, defeating Travers contender Frosted

"Racing is at the heart of what we do at Gas Monkey Garage, and horse racing is the original racing. The first race was when the second guy jumped on his horse," Rawlings said.
