After breaking her maiden by an impressive 3 lengths over Woodbine's all-weather track Nov. 29, Dunmore Beach will make her dirt debut Jan. 1 in the $175,000 Cash Run Stakes at Gulfstream Park. The Quality Road filly faces a field of six other newly turned 3-year-old fillies in the 1-mile race.
The Cash Run is one of two black-type events on Gulfstream's New Year's Day program, including the Dania Beach Stakes. Both purses contain $25,000 in Florida-bred incentive funds.
Gainesway Stable and Andrew Rosen's Dunmore Beach ultimately crossed the wire second on debut Sept. 20 at Woodbine, but was disqualified to sixth for interference. She then came back to run a game third a month later. All three of her starts have been at Woodbine.
"I thought she was pretty impressive in that race," trainer Josie Carroll said of her maiden win. "We had been looking forward to running her two turns, and she certainly lived up to our expectations. We thought she was a really promising filly. She had a little bad luck her first couple of starts, got in some trouble, and got DQ'd. Then, when we ran her two turns, she was pretty dominant.
"I think her shorter races were respectable, also, so we're not too concerned about it. She seems to have taken well to the dirt in her training. It'll be her first time running on it, but the stakes seemed like it was coming up a short field, so we thought it was worth going in there."
Trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. entered two fillies in Thursday's race, including Final Furlong Farm and Madaket Stables' stakes-placed Secane . The daughter of Audible finished third in the Tempted Stakes Nov. 6 at Aqueduct Racetrack. She is the morning-line favorite at 8-5.
Stephen Screnci's multiple stakes-placed Vita Mia will break from post 1. Both of her stakes placings came at Gulfstream, on the dirt in the Hallandale Beach Stakes and on turf in the Our Dear Peggy Stakes. Five of the Engage filly's six starts have come at Gulfstream, including her 4-length maiden win Sept. 6. She exits a sixth-place finish in the Nov. 29 Golden Rod Stakes (G2) at Churchill Downs.

Glorious Boy was declared the sole winner of the Pulpit Stakes Nov. 28 at Gulfstream after crossing the finish line in a dead heat with Bronze Bullet , who was ultimately disqualified following a stewards' inquiry and placed second. The Pulpit was ran over the Tapeta track after being taken off the turf.
The son of Independence Hall will take on a field of nine in the $175,000 Dania Beach Stakes going 1 mile over the turf. Prior to his effort in the Pulpit Stakes, he ran second in the 6-furlong Awad Stakes at Aqueduct.
Legion Racing and Awestrike Racing's Honey Dutch is one of the nine sophomores Glorious Boy will be up against. The Knicks Go colt finished a game third in his last outing, the Central Park Stakes at Aqueduct Nov. 7. He is 2-1 on the morning line.
Also in the lineup is Hall of Fame trainer Mark Casse's duo of D. J. Stable's Alpyland and Harry Rosenblum's Truman's Commander . Both colts are coming off allowance optional claiming wins at Gulfstream Park and Tampa Bay Downs, respectively.
