Bidding opened Jan. 5 for the “Express Kid Flash Sale,” a one-horse online auction of recent Springboard Mile Stakes winner Express Kid on Fasig-Tipton Digital. Bidding will close Jan. 9 at 4 p.m. ET.
Paramount Sales, agent, consigns the 3-year-old colt.
Express Kid won his most recent start in the $300,000 Springboard Mile Stakes at Remington Park Dec. 20 by 6 1/4 lengths, going gate-to-wire and earning a career-best 85 Beyer speed figure. He earned 10 Kentucky Derby (G1) qualifying points for the victory.
Express Kid is a winner of 3 of 5 career starts, with earnings of $236,902. He has demonstrated great versatility thus far in his career, having taken his debut going 4 1/2 furlongs July 3, followed by a second in the Prairie Meadows Freshman Stakes going 6 furlongs Aug. 16. He is also a winner on turf around two turns.
“Express Kid delivered a career-best performance in his two-turn dirt debut, winning the Springboard Mile,” said Leif Aaron, Fasig-Tipton director of digital sales. “He is developing and improving at an exciting time of year with Kentucky Derby-prep season upon us.”
Express Kid has classic influences throughout his pedigree. He is out of a multiple-winning daughter of Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense , and his second dam is the multiple stakes winner and graded stakes placed Stormy West, by Gone West. His third dam is multiple stakes winner Storm Beauty, a multiple stakes-producing daughter of Storm Cat.
Express Kid is available for inspection at Turf Paradise in Phoenix.
