Irish trainer Philip Fenton will be allowed to have runners at next week's high-profile Cheltenham festival despite being under investigation for possessing anabolic steroids.
The three horses that Fenton has entered for Cheltenham were tested by the British Horseracing Authority last week for performance-enhancing substances.
The BHA said March 5 that it ''has found no evidence that any of the horses in question have been administered with any substances which would be considered prohibited.''
One of Fenton's entries, Last Instalment, is among the favorites for the festival's signature Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Fenton faces a hearing on March 20—less than a week after the four-day festival—after being charged with possessing unauthorized animal remedies following an inspection of his yard in January 2012.
