Newgate's first reported foal, a filly, at Elm Tree Farm

Three Chimneys Farm announced Jan. 16 that grade 1 winner Newgate   has been represented by his first foal, a filly, born at Jody and Michelle Huckabay's Elm Tree Farm in Paris, Ky., on Jan. 4.

The chestnut filly is out of the Cairo Prince   mare, Pakhet ,  runner-up in the 2018 Jessamine Stakes (G2T) and the dam of stakes winner, Spirit Doll , a 6-length winner of the 2025 Our Dear Peggy Stakes in October at Gulfstream Park.

"Newgate is a tremendous physical and covered a high-quality book of 180 mares in his first year at stud. He has all of the qualities breeders look for in a young stallion, being by a proven sire of sires and combining an exceptional physical with superior talent and brilliance on the racetrack. We're very excited to have his first foals hit the ground," said Rebecca Nicholson, director of stallion nominations at Three Chimneys.

An $850,000 Keeneland September Yearling sired by perennial leading sire Into Mischief  , Newgate broke his maiden at first asking and went on to make more than $1 million for Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert. The highlight of his career came in taking the 2024 Santa Anita Handicap (G1).

Newgate received outstanding breeder support in his debut season, setting the stage for a highly anticipated first crop.
