Zozos wins the 2023 Ack Ack Stakes at Churchill Downs

The first reported foal by grade 1-placed, grade 3 winner Zozos   was born Feb. 6 at Equistar Training and Breeding in Pennsylvania, where the stallion stands.

Barry and Joni Butzow, who campaigned Zozos with trainer Brad Cox, bred the bay filly out of the stakes-placed Tapiture   mare Isthatyourharley. Equistar owner Rodney Eckenrode brokered the sale of the mare to the Butzows.

"She is a really nice mare whose own dam is a great producer with multiple stakes horses," Eckenrode said. Isthatyourharley is a half sister to stakes winner Chilly in Charge (Take Charge Indy  ) and stakes-placed winners Chilly Start (Jump Start) and Chilly Sky (Sky Mesa ).

Eckenrode said he was thrilled with this first foal.

"She is a very nice filly and very busy," he said. "She was on her feet quickly, nursed, and is on the go. She has a nice shoulder, short back, and is long-legged like her sire."
