Sam Houston Race Park announced Feb. 9 the launch of the Sam Houston Racing Club, a groundbreaking collaboration with MyRacehorse, the world's leading fractional racehorse ownership platform. While racing clubs have existed at racetracks for years, this marks the first time a racetrack has partnered with a technology platform capable of offering Securities and Exchange Commission-qualified, true ownership interests at scale, redefining how fans experience Thoroughbred racing.

Powered by MyRacehorse's state-of-the-art ownership technology, the Sam Houston Racing Club gives members the opportunity to become legitimate racehorse owners rather than simply joining a fan club. This includes real equity, earnings participation, and direct access to their horse's journey.

Through the MyRacehorse app, club owners receive real-time updates delivered directly to their phones, including training progress, race entries, and insights from the trainer. Members can participate in owner-only events, follow their horse's development from the barn to race day, and, if the horse is successful on the track, receive earnings directly into their MyRacehorse digital wallet.

"Racing clubs aren't new, but true ownership at this scale is," said Michael Behrens, CEO of MyRacehorse. "MyRacehorse was built to solve the biggest challenges facing ownership groups: access, communication, education, and transparency. This partnership with Sam Houston Race Park allows us to bring real ownership to more people while delivering a modern, intuitive experience that keeps owners engaged every step of the way."

Historically, racetracks have faced significant hurdles when managing ownership clubs, from coordinating communications to educating large groups on the complexities of racing ownership. MyRacehorse has cracked that code, leveraging technology to support thousands of owners simultaneously while maintaining compliance and engagement.

For Sam Houston Race Park, the Racing Club represents another step forward in its broader push toward innovation and elevated guest experiences. The track has already introduced cashless operations and expanded entertainment offerings, and the Racing Club builds on that momentum by offering fans a deeper, more immersive way to connect with the sport.

"This partnership is about meeting today's fans where they are and inviting them further inside the sport," said Bryan Pettigrew, Sam Houston Race Park general manager. "The Sam Houston Racing Club gives people a legitimate stake in the action while reinforcing our commitment to innovation, hospitality, and top-tier racing experiences here in Texas."

The Sam Houston Racing Club will kick off with the sophomore colt Onthethirstyside  trained by Texas staple, Mindy Willis. Willis is the daughter of and former assistant to grade 1-winning trainer Barney Willis. Mindy went out on her own in 1982 and has amassed more than $15 million in career earnings since then. Perennially a top 10 trainer at Sam Houston, she finished third in last year's standings with a 27% win rate and behind only Hall of Famer Steve Asmussen and nationally prominent conditioner Bret Calhoun. Willis's top trainee to date is the multiple stakes-winning, $806,000-plus earning Texas-bred Sunlit Song, who took 19 trips to the winner's circle in his 50-start career.
