

The Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association announced March 6 the winners of its 2025 championship awards, highlighted by Touchuponastar , who was voted the state's Horse of the Year by the LTBA board of directors from among the divisional champions.
Touchuponastar further earned honors as the champion 4-year-old-and-up male following another standout season.

The LTBA also announced additional annual honors.
Coteau Grove Farms was named Breeder of the Year, an award determined by total breeder awards earned during the calendar year.
The High Percentage Breeder Award, given to breeders with at least five starters and the highest percentage of stakes winners from starters, went to J. E. Jumonville Jr. and Bunny Jumonville, who recorded an impressive 34% stakes winners from starters.
Star Guitar , who stands at Clear Creek Stud, was named Stallion of the Year, with his progeny earning more than any other stallion standing in Louisiana during 2025.
Award presentations will take place at the 2025 LTBA Annual Awards Banquet, held in conjunction with the R.E.A.P. benefit, tentatively scheduled for Aug. 1 at Evangeline Downs in Opelousas, La.
