At Day 3 of the under-tack show for the Ocala Breeders' Sales March 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale, two horses consigned by Jimbo Gladwell's Top Line Sales worked the fastest furlongs in :09 3/5.
Hip 508 is an Ohio-bred by Gainesway's first-crop sire Drain the Clock , a filly out of the winning Grand Appointment mare Windsail . Windsail is the dam of four winners from four to race, including three black-type performers. As a weanling, the filly was sold to Horseplay Investments for $100,000 at the 2024 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale. She was then sold at the 2025 Keeneland September Yearling Sale to Exclusive Bloodstock for $200,000.
"The Drain the Clocks have been big, beautiful horses," Gladwell said. "And the Golden Pal has been straightforward. He's just a push-button horse, anybody can get him to go fast. He's just pretty much, you let him go do his job and get out of his way."
Hip 598 is a Kentucky-bred colt by Ashford Stud's freshman sire Golden Pal out of the Sligo Bay mare Bide a Wee Island . She has produced seven winners from seven foals to run, including grade 3 winner Island Commish . The dark bay or brown colt was purchased as a weanling at Fasig-Tipton's The November Sale in 2024 by Springhouse for $175,000, before being sold to Top Line Sales for $275,000 at Fasig-Tipton's The Saratoga Sale the following year.
"Those horses have both been really good all year. We knew we had a shot at going fast today but you never think you're going to go :09 3/5," Gladwell said. "Once the Golden Pal did it, we thought the Drain the Clock might do it because she's been right there head and head with him all year.

"They're both big horses who have a lot of balance and a lot of muscle to them and both of them have a good way of moving with really big strides. The way OBS has the track set up safe and fast for us, the bigger-strided horses get across it easily and they come back home safe and happy."
Hip 453, a Kentucky-bred filly named Candy Illusion, breezed a quarter-mile in :20 2/5. She is by Twirling Candy out of the Tizway mare Tizanillusion , who placed in the 2016 Crank It Up Stakes at Monmouth Park. Candy Illusion has gone through the ring once, when she was an RNA at the 2025 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
"Very high expectations for her. She's always been nice, a very fast filly, very classy," consignor Tom McCrocklin said of the filly. "Big stride and she prepped really well here. I had set myself up for disappointment because I was expecting a big breeze when she came through. I'm a big believer in let the horse do the talking.

"She has a lot of length and scope, a lot of reach. Just a big, big stride on her. She's deceptive because she's not moving her legs fast but she's covering a lot of ground and to me is always a good sign. She's a very exciting filly."
The final session of the under-tack show will begin March 7 at 8 a.m. ET, with hips 613-816 set to breeze. Full results for the under-tack show can be found at obssales.com.
