Mythical heads to the winner's circle after the 2025 FTBOA Florida Sire My Dear Girl Stakes at Gulfstream Park

Mythical , a disappointing fifth in the Forward Gal Stakes (G3), looks to get back into the winner's circle in the March 14 $125,000 Any Limit Stakes at Gulfstream Park

An Arindel homebred trained by Jorge Delgado, the 3-year-old daughter of St Patrick's Day  has suffered only two losses from seven starts. She broke her maiden April 17 last year and went on to capture two stakes at Saratoga Race Course, the Tremont Stakes and the Adirondack Stakes (G3). She was fifth in the Spinaway Stakes (G1), which marked her first career loss, before coming back to win two stakes for Florida-breds, the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders' and Owners' Association Florida Sire Susan's Girl and My Dear Girl stakes. Her most recent start came in the Jan. 31 Forward Gal, where she finished fifth as the post-time second choice.

Her competition in Saturday's 6-furlong dirt race includes the Ian Wilkes trainee A Fine Chardonnay . Owned by Double 22 Stables, she is making her first start as a 3-year-old. She won the Myrtlewood Stakes at Keeneland before wrapping up last year third in the Fern Creek Stakes at Churchill Downs

Arbiter takes on hutcheson in stakes debut

A 3-year-old son of Charlatan  , Arbiter  looks to remain perfect as he takes on his first stakes race. The $125,000 Hutcheson Stakes is run at 6 furlongs on the dirt.

Trained by Wesley Ward and owned by Resolution Road Stables, he broke his maiden on debut Nov. 30 at Churchill Downs going about 5 furlongs on the turf. He then won a 6-furlong allowance optional claiming race Dec. 17 at Turfway Park on the all-weather surface. Though already proven at the distance, the Hutcheson will be his first start on dirt.

He faces six other 3-year-olds, including trainer Patrick Biancone's Diciassette . The stakes-winning Mitole   colt cuts back in distance off consecutive fourth-place finishes in last year's 1 1/16-mile Breeders' Futurity (G1) at Keeneland and the Jan. 31 Swale Stakes over 7 furlongs at Gulfstream.

Moon Spun looks for five in a row in the Captiva Island

The Captiva Island Stakes, run at 5 furlongs on the turf, brings an expected field of 11, which includes the 5-year-old Hard Spun   mare Moon Spun .

Moon Spun wins the Ladies' Turf Sprint Stakes at Gulfstream Park

Trained by Brian Lynch and owned by Town and Country Racing, Moon Spun is coming off back-to-back stakes wins at Gulfstream Park. She took the Dec. 27 Abundantia Stakes and the Feb. 7 Ladies' Turf Sprint Stakes. After earning her second career victory Oct. 16, 2024, Moon Spun was sidelined for more than a year. She returned last fall with a victory in a Gulfstream allowance optional claimer before rattling off her two stakes wins.

Twirling Queen  looks to get her first stakes win since November 2024. The 5-year-old Twirling Candy   mare has only posted one victory in an allowance in eight subsequent starts for trainer Jose D'Angelo. From her 18 starts, she has won seven times.
