Hall of Fame Stakes (gr. IIT) winner Takeover Target shares the highweight assignment Sept. 5 as part of a trio for trainer Chad Brown in the $300,000 Saranac Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Saratoga Race Course.
The 3-year-old son of Harlan's Holiday will carry 121 pounds along with regular rider Irad Ortiz Jr. from post 3. Brown also has July 18 Kent Stakes (gr. IIIT) runner-up Money Multiplier in for Klaravich Stables and William Lawrence. The Lookin At Lucky ridgling breaks from the inside under Hall of Famer John Velazquez while carrying 117. Rounding out the "Team Brown" posse is Head of Plains Partners' Winter Springs, a French-bred Stormy River colt who was making his U.S. debut when sixth in the Aug. 7 Hall of Fame.
Co-highweight in the group of eight sophomores lined up for the 1 1/8-mile turf test is Robert Spiegel's Woodhaven Stakes winner Vision Perfect, a son of Pollard's Vision who needs to rebound from a seventh in the Hall of Fame last time out for trainer David Donk. Vision Perfect leaves the 6 hole under Manuel Franco.
Grade III winner World Approval is part of a duo for Mark Casse, along with allowance winner Sky Hero, who making his second start off the layoff. Nonna's Boy, who won the Lamplighter Stakes last time out at Monmouth Park July 18, completes the field along with the Bill Mott-trained allowance victor Go Around.
