Known Agenda Sold to New Farm in Uruguay

Grade 1 winner and second-crop sire Known Agenda   has been sold and will be relocated after the North American breeding season to a new farm named Haras La Peregrina in Maldonado, Uruguay, multiple sources confirmed. 

The 8-year-old stallion is a son of prominent sire and 2007-08 Horse of the Year Curlin   out of grade 1 winner Byrama , who won the 2013 Vanity Handicap (G1) and placed in the 2013 Madison Stakes (G1) and Clement L. Hirsch Stakes (G1).

Racing as a homebred for St. Elias Stable and trainer Todd Pletcher, Known Agenda placed in the 2020 Remsen Stakes (G2) at 2 and at 3 won the Florida Derby (G1) and ran fourth in Belmont Stakes (G1). He retired with a 3-1-1 record from eight starts and earned $641,700. 

Known Agenda was retired to stud at Spendthrift Farm near Lexington. To date as a stallion, he's sired 38 winners and landed his first black-type winner June 15, when his 3-year-old gelded son Squad Goals  won the Tom Ridge Stakes by 1 1/2 lengths at Presque Isle Downs. Known Agenda also sired grade 3-placed runner Wembley Avenue , who was third in last year's Grey Stakes (G3) at Woodbine.

Multiple graded stakes-placed stakes winner Dabster , another son of Curlin, has started off strong in Argentina as the country's leading freshman sire of 2023-24. Dabster stands at Hara Firmamento, according to Turf Diario.

Other sons of Curlin in South America include stakes-placed winner Marsalis  at Haras La Leyenda in Argentina; and grade 1-placed, grade 3 winner First Captain , who was purchased in 2024 to a coalition of Brazilian breeders and stands at Stud Eternamente Rio.
