Full Field to Contest Kentucky Turf Cup

Three graded stakes winners will look to claim their second victories in that category in the $300,000 Kentucky Turf Cup Stakes (gr. IIIT) Sept. 12 at Kentucky Downs.



Ken and Sarah Ramsey's Hyper, last a winner for trainer Chad Brown in the 2013 Bowling Green Handicap (gr. IIT) at Belmont Park, is the morning-line favorite at 3-1. Although the 7-year-old son of Victory Gallop hasn't won since the Bowling Green, he has four top-three finishes in six starts since, including a third in the May 9 Man o' War Stakes (gr. IT) at Belmont.



John James and Clark Brewster's Dramedy (12-1) doesn't have an extended drought, winning the Dixiana Elkhorn Stakes (gr. IIT) at Keeneland three starts back in April, but finished fourth in the Arlington Handicap (gr. IIIT) and eighth in this year's Bowling Green.



Warner Thoroughbreds' Quiet Force, second choice at 5-1, won the Arlington Handicap with an off-the-pace run, but may have been in too deep in the Arlington Million (gr. IT) a month later, when he finished 10th.

Graded stakes-placed Bailoutbobby, Captain Dixie, Roman Approval, Power Ped, and O'Prado Ole (also eligible) are also entered. Stakes winners Az Ridge and Da Big Hoss, stakes-placed St. Albans Boy, allowance victor Mygalsal, and 0-for-14 maiden Tobias complete the field.
