Danish Dynaformer Tries Top Level at Woodbine

Five proven graded winners will try for their first top-level victory in North America Sept. 13 in the $300,000 Northern Dancer Turf Stakes Presented by HPIBet (Can-IT) at Woodbine, but the most visually-impressive last-out winner hasn't made the grade just yet.



Charles Fipke's homebred Danish Dynaformer wowed in his last start at Woodbine, the $500,000 Breeders' Stakes Aug. 16. He took the final leg of the Canadian Triple Crown by 7 3/4 lengths under a hand ride.



LEWYN: Danish Dynaformer Romps in Breeders' Stakes



The 3-year-old son of Dynaformer trained by Roger Attfield has a 3-for-4 record over turf, with the only blemish coming in his grass debut at Gulfstream Park in January. He's the only 3-year-old in the field of nine.



Fellow last-out winners Lucky Speed and Interpol also should be in good form coming off graded wins in August.



Gestut Ittlingen's Irish homebred Lucky Speed, a 5-year-old son of Silvano, took the American St. Ledger Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Arlington International Racecourse Aug. 15 in his second North American start. His first was a fourth-place finish in the Nijinsky Stakes (Can-IIT), but he also has a top-level win from 2013, when he won the Sparda Deutsches Derby (Ger-I).



LEWYN: Lucky Speed Gets American St. Ledger Win



Interpol, fifth in the Nijinsky, also improved in his start immediately after, the Sky Classic (Can-IIT) Aug. 16 at Woodbine.



NOVAK: Interpol Upsets Sky Classic



Triple Threat and Ami's Holiday also bring graded credentials, but Sam-Son Farm's homebred Aldous Snow is the only entrant with multiple graded wins, with victories in the Singspiel Stakes (Can-IIIT) in both 2014 and 2015. He was sixth in the Sky Classic.



Graded stakes-placed Glenard, stakes-winning mare Habibi, and allowance winner Oil Strike complete the field.
