Five Supplements Join Book 1 of Keeneland Sept. Sale

Yearlings walk on the sales grounds at Keeneland

Keeneland has announced that five horses—sons of Into Mischief  , Vekoma  , and Yaupon  , and two colts from the final crop of Uncle Mo—have been supplemented to Book 1 of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale Sept. 14-15. All are consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent.

Opening day of the sale will include these supplements:

  • Hip 182 is a colt by Yaupon out of the Violence   mare Rise Above , a half sister to grade 1 winner Twilight Eclipse  and grade 3 winner Grand Contender .
  • Hip 183 is a colt by Uncle Mo who is out of the winning Bernardini mare Positively Royal . A half brother to stakes-placed winner Roman Empire , he is from the family of group 1 winner Miserden and grade 1 winner and sire Eddington.

Yearlings supplemented to the second day are:

  • Hip 374 is a colt by Uncle Mo who is the first foal of Lafertiti, by Pioneerof the Nile. He is from the family of grade 1 winners Bast  and Fault  and grade 2 winner Mananan McLir.
  • Hip 375 is a colt by Into Mischief out of the grade 3-placed winner Golden Domer , by Quality Road  . He is from the family of 2009 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Mine That Bird  and grade 1 winners Bolo  and Dullahan . Taylor Made consigns the colt as agent for Spendthrift Farm.
  • Hip 376 is a colt by Vekoma who is the first foal of the Arrogate mare August Bloom , a half sister to grade 2 winner Faypien .

With the supplements, a total of 4,640 horses have been cataloged to the September sale, which runs 12 sessions through Sept. 26.

Last year's September sale was the world's highest-grossing Thoroughbred auction in history, with more than $531.7 million in sales for 3,078 horses. The number of million-dollar horses (56), along with the average price ($172,755) and the median price ($80,000), all set records for the sale.
