The Pennsylvania Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association and Parx Racing are proud to partner with Stable Recovery for the inaugural running of the Stable Recovery Stakes on Pennsylvania Derby Day, Saturday, September 19th. Stable Recovery is changing lives throughout the equine industry, and this partnership allows for more awareness and support of the Stable Recovery mission. All stake fee nominations for the Stable Recovery Stakes will be donated back to the program, along with a matching donation from the Horsemen and Parx Racing.

"Stable Recovery was founded in 2022 with just a few men and a partnership with the Taylor Made School of Horsemanship. In just two short years, the program experienced tremendous growth, and it continues to grow today. To date, we have graduated 137 residents from the School of Horsemanship, with 99% securing employment with one of our strategic equine industry partners. Even more importantly, we now have 44 Legacy graduates, men and women who have successfully completed our full one-year recovery program and are continuing to build stable, productive lives in recovery.

We are incredibly fortunate to have so many supporters throughout Pennsylvania, and we are especially grateful for the support of the PTHA and Parx Racing. Their belief in Stable Recovery and the people we serve makes this growth possible and helps us provide opportunities that truly change lives. We are grateful for this opportunity, grateful for the support, and look forward to the Stable Recovery Stakes on the third Saturday of September at Parx." Frank Taylor, CEO, Stable Recovery

The Stable Recovery Stakes is a listed stake for four-year-olds and upward going six and a half furlongs on the main track. The Stable Recovery Stakes will carry a purse of $150,000, being on the undercard leading up to the Grade 1 $1,000,000 Cotillion Stakes and Grade 1 $1,000,000 Pennsylvania Derby. Nominations will close on Wednesday, September 2nd.

"Parx Racing is proud to partner with Stable Recovery and support the incredible work they are doing to provide opportunity, purpose, and a path forward through the Thoroughbred industry. Hosting the Stable Recovery Stakes on Pennsylvania Derby Day allows us to use our biggest stage to highlight their mission and positive impact," said Parx Racing COO Joe Wilson.

The PTHA runs a charitable arm, PTHA Charities, Inc., which centers around the men and women of the Parx Racing Backstretch Community. The hope is for this partnership to not only bring awareness to Stable Recovery, but for individuals at Parx Racing or throughout the Mid-Atlantic to have Stable Recovery as a trusted resource should they ever need it.

Jaclyn DeSanctis, who runs the backstretch programs for the PTHA, added, "We are so excited to partner with Stable Recovery and Parx Racing to help shine a brighter light on an amazing program. Together, we are proud to support a mission that makes a real difference and brings hope, awareness and positive change for our community."
