Litmus Test wins the 2025 Los Alamitos Futurity at Los Alamitos Race Course
Four stakes for 2-year-olds -- including a pair of graded races -- highlight the upcoming Winter Thoroughbred meet at Los Alamitos.
The six-day season is scheduled to begin Friday, Dec. 4 and continue through Sunday, Dec. 13. Racing will be conducted on a Friday-Sunday basis (Dec. 4-6 and 11-13) both weeks. Post time will be 12:30 p.m.
The $200,000-guaranteed Starlet, a Grade II for 2-year-old fillies, will be renewed for the 13th time at Los Alamitos Saturday, Dec. 5.
Following one week later is the Grade II, $200,000-guaranteed Los Alamitos Futurity.
Litmus Test captured the 12th running of the Futurity a year ago for Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert, who also won the Starlet -- for the ninth year in a row - with Consequent. Both races will be run at 1 1/16 miles.
The other two stakes for juveniles will be run at one mile and are ungraded.
The $100,000 Soviet Problem -- for fillies - will be offered Sunday, Dec. 6 while the $100,000 King Glorious will be run Sunday, Dec. 13. Both are for horses bred or sired in California.
