Champion Super Corredora Meets Elders in Zenyatta

The Sept. 27 Zenyatta Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita Park pits recent form against championship material. Super Corredora , the 2025 Eclipse Award-winning 2-year-old filly, will make her first start since March in the 1 1/16-mile Zenyatta, facing six who raced at the summer Del Mar meeting. Three of those won stakes during that stand.

Super Corredora is the only one with a Breeders' Cup win. For trainer John Sadler, she capped off her 2025 season with a front-running victory in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1). The Kentucky-bred millionaire daughter of Gun Runner   was unplaced in two races against 3-year-olds earlier this year, and the Zenyatta will be her first attempt against older rivals. Joel Rosario will ride her for the first time.

The Zenyatta is a Breeders' Cup Challenge Series: Win and You're In race, offering a berth to the Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1).

California-bred Majestic Oops  is the other millionaire in the Zenyatta field. Early this year at Oaklawn Park, the 6-year-old daughter of Majestic Harbor won the American Beauty Stakes and Azeri Stakes (G2), defeating champion Nitrogen  in the latter. Now trained by Phil D'Amato, Majestic Oops has two thirds and a fourth in graded company since the Azeri.

Om N Joy , a 4-year-old Cal-bred daughter of Om  trained by Aggie Ordonez, comes off a fourth against males in the Aug. 22 Pacific Classic Stakes (G1). Earlier this year she won the Santa Margarita Stakes (G2).

Magnificat  and She's No Quant  won the Tranquility Lake Stakes and Fleet Treat Stakes, respectively, at Del Mar. Magnificat, a 4-year-old daughter of Omaha Beach🔥   trained by Richard Mandella, has never attempted a distance beyond the Tranquility Lake's 1 mile. She's No Quant, a 3-year-old daughter of Pavel   trained by Edward Freeman, ran second in the 1-mile Torrey Pines Stakes (G3) in her next out and also will be trying 1 1/16 miles for the first time.

Rabeeba  won the Torrey Pines to keep her record perfect in only three starts. Bob Baffert trains the 3-year-old daughter of Curlin  . In addition to the Torrey Pines, Rabeeba scored in a 6 1/2-furlong maiden race at Los Alamitos Race Course and a 1-mile allowance optional claimer at Del Mar.

Baffert also trains Howin , a 4-year-old daughter of Gun Runner. Third in last year's Zenyatta, Howin in her only 2026 start ran fifth in the Tranquility Lake. She is the lone non-stakes winner in the field, though she placed in two other 2025 graded events.

IMAGINATION TRIES FOR SECOND SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIP

Imagination🔥   will make his first start since June in the Sept. 27 Santa Anita Sprint Championship Stakes (G2) at 6 furlongs. He is the defending race winner, and in his next start after that victory he finished second to Bentornato  in the Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1).

Baffert trains Imagination, who in his first 2026 start captured the Riyadh Dirt Sprint (G2) in Saudi Arabia. A 5-year-old son of Into Mischief  , Imagination has been unplaced in three subsequent starts. Juan Hernandez, who last rode Imagination in the 2025 Sprint Championship and Breeders' Cup Sprint, will be back aboard.

Baffert also entered March of Time , a lightly raced 5-year-old son of Justify  . Never worse than third in his first five starts, March of Time made his stakes debut in the Aug. 29 Pat O'Brien Stakes (G2), finishing fifth.

Listenupshance  and Maximum Bourbon , the 1-2 finishers in the July 25 Bing Crosby Stakes (G1) a nose apart, are set to meet again in the Sprint Championship. Doug O'Neill trains Listenupshance, who also has three stakes placings. D'Amato took over the training of Maximum Bourbon earlier this year, winning the St. Matthews Overnight Stakes at Churchill Downs with him.

Ahrens , claimed for $32,000 in February, rounds out the field and is making his stakes debut for Sadler.
