Emphatic Holds Off Summer Starlet in Alcibiades

Emphatic  was not to be denied in the Alcibiades Stakes (G1) Oct. 2 at Keeneland, as she sprinted out early from the rail, held the lead throughout, and inched away from a closing Summer Starlet  to remain undefeated in three races.

The daughter of Nyquist   posted early fractions of :24.45 and :48.74 and maintained the advantage at the wire to give her sire his third grade 1 winner in 2026, following Nysos   and Knightsbridge🔥 .

Ridden by Tyler Gaffalione and trained by Brendan Walsh, Emphatic finished the 1 1/16 miles on a good track in 1:43.04.

Summer Starlet ran second, and it was a huge gap to Oh She Said Yes  in third.

Bred in Pennsylvania by Jon Marshall and owned by Gainesway Stable and Andrew Rosen, Emphatic paid $8.78 to win.

With the Alcibiades part of the Breeders' Cup Challenge Series: Win and You're In, Emphatic earned an automatic, fees-paid berth into the Oct. 30 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) at Keeneland.

As part of the Road to the Kentucky Oaks, the race's top five finishers also earned qualifying points distributed on a 10-5-3-2-1 scale toward next spring's Kentucky Oaks (G1) at Churchill Downs.
