Co-owner Jim Rome said on Twitter Sept. 21 that Shared Belief, who hasn't raced since April, is officially back in training.
Shared Belief, the champion 2-year-old male of 2013, is owned by Rome's Jungle Racing along with Jason Litt, Alex Solis II, George Todaro, KMN Racing, and his trainer, Jerry Hollendorfer. Diagnostic work after the gelding was pulled up during the April 18 Charles Town Classic (gr. II) revealed a non-displaced fracture near his right hip.
Shared Belief eventually was sent to Pegasus Equine Rehabilitation and Training Center in Washington. His prognosis for recovery was good, but his connections wouldn't speculate when the winner of 10 of 12 career starts—five graded stakes victories and almost $3 million in earnings—would return to the races.
