Shared Belief

Shared Belief, who has not raced since suffering a non-displaced hip fracture in the Charles Town Classic (gr. II) April 18, is in training with expectations that he could return to the races at Santa Anita Park's winter meeting that begins Dec. 26.

"He's jogging at the Pegasus Training and (Equine) Rehabilitation Center in Redmond, Wash., near Seattle," said Dan Ward, assistant to Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer. "He's finished with the AquaTred and swimming.

"From there, I believe he would return to train at Golden Gate (Fields), because he's been training on a synthetic surface (Polytrack) at Pegasus, and Golden Gate also has a synthetic (Tapeta) surface. If all goes well, we hope to be ready for the big meet at Santa Anita."

Owned in partnership by Jim Rome's Jungle Racing, Jason Litt, Alex Solis II, George Todaro, KMN Racing, and Hollendorfer, Shared Belief was named champion 2-year-old male in 2013. He has 10 wins from 12 lifetime starts, including five grade I stakes, with more than $2.9 million in earnings.

The versatile Candy Ride   gelding won three straight races at Santa Anita early in 2015, after his fourth-place finish in the last year's controversial Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I)the Malibu (gr. I), San Antonio Invitational (gr. II), and the Santa Anita Handicap (gr. I).
