James E. "Ted" Bassett, the former chairman and president of Keeneland, will be presented with the Horace W. "Salty" Roberts Founder's Award at the Race Track Chaplaincy of America's 13th annual White Horse luncheon. The event will take place Thursday, Oct. 29, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Campbell House in Lexington.

Bassett, who was also president of the Breeders' Cup, played a significant role in the ministry of the RTCA in its inception, specifically in helping to launch the ministry internationally, according to a release from the organization. The annual luncheon provides an opportunity to highlight the ministry of the RTCA and recognize heroism, service, and sacrifice on behalf of humans and horses within the horse racing world, according to the organization.

In addition to honoring this year's award recipients, the event will feature a live and silent auction as well as music by the inspirational country duo Branded. Registration is available online at www.rtcanational.org.
