If you don’t have admission tickets for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships but you still would like to get together with your friends and other racing fans to enjoy all the racing action, then The Hill at Keeneland Race Course is a great alternative option.

What is The Hill? The Hill is Keeneland’s dedicated tailgating location, found next to the Keene Barn and Entertainment Center.
How can you gain access to The Hill during Breeders’ Cup Friday and Saturday? The pricing per vehicle is $35 on Friday, Oct. 30 and $50 for Saturday, Oct. 31.
There are no reserved seats. Since the pricing is per vehicle, I suggest calling your friends and figuring out who has the biggest car. Minivan anyone?
Click here for ticket information here.
Can fans watch and bet the races from the hill? Yes! There will be betting windows and a big jumbo television on the hill so that you don’t miss out on any of the racing.

Will food and drinks be available for purchase? Local food trucks will be on site serving up a variety of options and there will also be a cash bar for drinks. Coolers are permitted so you can pack them up with your beverages and snacks.

Is there a list of items I can or cannot bring? The Breeders’ Cup and Keeneland set up an information page to give you an idea of how to prepare for tailgating at the hill.
Don’t forget to bring the essentials like sunglasses, umbrella (you never know what October weather might bring), pens (how are you going to circle your picks on the program?) and cash to purchase food, drinks, and make your bets.
Happy tailgating!
