Two Ejected From Churchill Grounds

Description:

Two licensees in Kentucky, including one who allegedly is involved with money laundering, have had their licenses suspended after being ejected from the grounds at Churchill Downs.

According to the ruling by stewards, Mike Willis (also known as "Hollywood"), licensed as a jockeys' agent, was ejected and his license suspended for "structuring and money laundering."

Robert King, director of security at Churchill, said he could not comment on the reason for Willis' ejection, adding that it is still under investigation and is a federal case. Effective Sept. 27, Willis was prohibited from entering the grounds or facilities of Churchill Downs and referred to the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission's license review committee.

Owner-trainer Thomas Callahan was ejected and prohibited from entering track facilities and his case also referred to the license review committee for multiple infractions of falsification of health certificates, according to King.
