Trainer Mike Stidham said Her Emmynency was fine the morning after her head victory over Miss Temple City in the Oct. 10 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (gr. IT) Presented by Lane's End at Keeneland and likely would not race again this year.
Ike and Dawn Thrash's 3-year-old Successful Appeal filly definitely will not run in the Breeders' Cup World Championships at Keeneland Oct. 30-31, but could possibly start in the Mrs. Revere (gr. IIT) Nov. 14 at Churchill Downs.
"She looks good this morning," Stidham said Oct. 11. "I told (jockey) Florent (Geroux) yesterday to just let her place herself and if somebody else goes for the lead, fine. She sat just off Mizz Money and it worked out perfect."
Stidham said Her Emmynency would be campaigned next year with a goal of making the Breeders' Cup when it returns to Santa Anita Park.
"She's definitely not going to the Breeders' Cup," Stidham said of this year's event. "Our goal is to come back with a good 4-year-old next year and hopefully one that is good enough for the Breeders' Cup."
Connections of the other top finishers in the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup reported their charges were fine as well.
Dave Rock, assistant to trainer Graham Motion said Miss Temple City also may be done for the year.
"That may be it for the year. There are not a lot of races left," said Rock, who reported that Miss Temple City came out of the race fine. "It has been a long year."
Roger Horgan, assistant to trainer Kiaran McLaughlin, said third-place finisher and beaten favorite Sentiero Italia came out of the race "perfect."
"No issues whatsoever," he said. "She cooled out fine. She ate up last night. She walked fine this morning."
Also in good order on Sunday was Martin Schwartz's fourth-place finisher, Olorda, according to Baldo Hernandez, assistant to trainer Chad Brown.
