Killin Me Smalls rolls to victory in the British Columbia Premier's Handicap.

Deltin Stable and Ed Walsh's Killin Me Smalls shipped in from Northlands Park in Alberta to capture the $100,000 British Columbia Premier's Handicap (Can-III) at Hastings Racecourse Oct. 12.

Ridden by Ruben Lara for trainer Ernie Keller, Killin Me Smalls broke on top and never looked back to win the 1 3/8-mile stakes in 2:15.77 on a sloppy track. The 5-year-old gelding by Marcavelly out of the Golden Missile   mare Curly Girl paid $4.20 as the favorite.

Killin Me Smalls, who won for the 12th time in 27 starts, wasn't challenged through fractions of :24.29 for the opening quarter-mile, :47.56 for a half-mile, 1:12.58 for six furlongs, and 1:38.08 for one mile. Square Dancer was second and Brass and Gold third.

Killin Me Smalls was bred in Ontario, Canada, by Zayat Stables, owner of 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah.
