UK's Coach Calipari to Draw Two BC Races

University of Kentucky men's basketball coach John Calipari will draw post positions for two races at the Breeders' Cup Post Positon Draw at Keeneland on Monday, Oct. 26.

Coach Calipari will draw the post positions for the $2 million Longines Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I) for fillies and mares and the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I). The latter raceĀ is expected to include Triple Crown winner American Pharoah and champion Beholder.

Calipari led the Wildcats to the 2012 NCAA Tournament title and was recently inducted to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

"It's terrific that we can bring together two of the greatest sporting traditions of the Commonwealth, majestic Thoroughbreds and UK basketball, for this year's World Championships," said Robert N. Elliston, Breeders' Cup executive vice president and chief operating officer.

The Breeders' Cup post position draw reception will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. ET in Keeneland's Maker's Mark Bourbon Lounge, located at the top of the stretch near the Gate 2 entrance. The draws for the Distaff and Classic will begin at approximately 6 p.m. Tickets for the draw are available at www.BreedersCup.com/draw. Tickets are free for the first 2,000 guests who complete ticket application.

The draw for the first 11 Breeders' Cup races will be held earlier in the day at 1 p.m. in the Keeneland Sales Pavilion.
