Miss Ella Seeks Rare Double in Raven Run

Jack Swain III's Miss Ella, winner of the Beaumont Stakes (gr. II) at Keeneland during in the spring meet, will take on 10 rivals Oct. 17 in the $250,000 Lexus Raven Run (gr. II) for 3-year-old fillies going seven furlongs on the main track.

The Lexus Raven Run is scheduled to be run as the ninth race on Saturday's 10-race program with a 5:30 p.m. EDT post time.

Trained by Graham Motion, Miss Ella will attempt to join Gypsy Robin (2012) as the only filly to win the Lexus Raven Run and Beaumont. The Exchange Rate   filly returned to the winner's circle in her most recent start with a victory in the Christiecat at Belmont Park on Sept. 11. Trevor McCarthy has the mount and will break from post five.

Coming in from Belmont is Mary and Chester Broman's Bar of Gold. Trained by John Kimmel, Bar of Gold is coming off runner-up efforts to Cavorting in the Test (gr. I) and Prioress (gr. II) in her past two starts. Jose Lezcano will ride from post two.

Also coming in from New York is W.S. Farish and David Mackie's Irish Jasper. Now trained by Chad Brown, Irish Jasper posted grade III victories in the Miss Preakness and Victory Ride and enters Saturday's race off a sixth-place finish in the Prioress. Shaun Bridgmohan has the mount from the three hole.

Two-time grade III winner Sarah Sis, an allowance winner at Keeneland last fall, also is in the field.

Owned by Joe Ragsdale and trained by Ingrid Mason, Sarah Sis won the Honeybee (gr. III) and Iowa Oaks (gr. III this year. Florent Geroux will ride from post eight.
