America’s Best Racing and BetAmerica team up to provide horseplayers with their best bets of the weekend in a regular feature blog that will run on Fridays.
Each week, one of our crack handicappers - Jose Contreras, Dan Tordjman, Victoria Garofalo, Mike Johnson or Vince Mathews – will provide at least one “Best Bet” of the weekend, ideal for a win bet. The post also will include some combination of additional bets for the weekend.
For some posts, our handicappers will try to identify a longshot play of the weekend, a nice opportunity to swing for the fences on a win bet or to take a shot with a show bet.
Our handicappers also will look for strong exacta plays for the weekend or occasionally try to spot a nice opportunity for other wagers.
Place your bets at BetAmerica, which prides itself on outstanding customer service combined with the safety and security of wagering with a reputable advance-deposit wagering platform. Place your bets and you can walk away with some extra cash in your pocket.

BEST BET/WIN BET
Santa Anita Park, Race 2, 4:30 ET
#7 Apollo Ten ran an improved effort last time when setting the pace at a longer distance. He’s making his third start back in barn of trainer Jack Carava since arriving from New Mexico. When Carava had him in earlier in the year and late 2014, this horse delivered some good efforts that would make him competitive against this group.
EXACTA BOX
Keeneland Race Course, Race 9, $250,000 Lexus Raven Run Stakes, 5:30 p.m. ET
#1 Paid Up Subscriber didn’t have the best of trips in her stakes debut in the Prioress when finishing a respectable fourth in a field of 10. She has a win at this distance and has experience on this surface. I expect a good effort from her.
#3 Irish Jasper was left with too much to do in the Prioress Stakes when breaking last and getting bumped early. She’s a multiple stakes winner and is making her second start for this sharp trainer.
#9 Kathballu has the talent to make an impact in a field like this. Her jockey has been aboard for both of her career wins, and she looks to have enough tactical speed to establish a good position early on in the race.
#10 Chide has a pair of good second-place finishes in her two tries at this distance. She seems to be getting better with every race and her closing kick should have her in contention in the final furlong.

BEST BET/ WIN BET
Keeneland Race Course, Race 7, 4:24 p.m. ET
#5 Teslina began her career in Chile with four wins out of five races, with all of her wins coming at sprint distances between six and seven furlongs. Her only dull effort was a last-place finish in a one-mile event. She’s making her first local start for a trainer is having a sensational meet. She will be dangerous if she can find some of talent she showed back in Chile.
BEST BET/ WIN BET
Santa Anita Park, Race 9, 8 p.m. ET
#8 Nashoba’s Candy didn’t improve off her debut like many of thought she would in her second start, but i’m willing to draw a line through that race. She’s well-bred and has a good set of workouts leading up to her third career start. A clean start should give her a big shot to show what kind of talent she has.
