Golden Horn, winner of the Epsom Derby (Eng-I) and Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Fr-I), leads a 24-horse contingent of European runners who will be making their first North American starts of the year in the Breeders' Cup World Championships Oct. 30-31 at Keeneland.

Anthony Oppenheimer's multiple group I winning son of Cape Cross has been entered in the $3 million Longines Breeders' Cup Turf (gr. I). If Golden Horn prevails in the Turf, he would become the first horse to complete the Arc/Turf double and help trainer John Gosden become the first British conditioner to earn more than £10 million in a year.

Golden Horn is scheduled to arrive at the Louisville International Airport Oct. 24 after noon.

Other top European runners include Famille Rothschild's Esoterique who is coming off back-to-back group I wins in England and France and has been entered in the Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT); and, three-time group I winner Legatissimo, who is owned by Susan Magnier, Michael Tabor, and Derrick Smith, and has been entered in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (gr. IT). Gleneagles, also a winner of three group Is this year including the St. James Palace Stakes (Eng-I) and the QIPCO 2000 Guineas (Eng-I) has been pre-entered in the Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I). Magnier, Tabor, and Smith own Gleneagles as well.

Postponed, winner of the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Eng-I), had been pre-entered in the Turf but is now out because of an unsatisfactory scope following an Oct. 21 work, according to Racing Post
