Frivolous worked five furlongs in :59 4/5 at Keeneland on Oct 23.

G. Watts Humphrey Jr.'s Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I) contender Frivolous turned in her final work for the Oct. 30 test when she breezed five furlongs in :59 4/5 under trainer Vicky Oliver at Keeneland.

The 5-year-old daughter of Empire Maker was clocked in splits of :12 3/5, :24 1/5, and :35 4/5, with a gallop-out in 1:13 1/5 on a fast track under trainer Vicki Oliver.

"I thought she worked super; she did everything we asked her to do," Oliver said of her Fleur De Lis Handicap (gr. II) winner. "I would have loved that work last week and the other one (four furlongs in :47 2/5 Oct. 16) this week, but because it was her first work back from a race, I had to do it the other way around."

Frivolous comes into the Distaff off a fourth in the Oct. 4 Juddmonte Spinster Stakes (gr. I) at Keeneland. Prior to that start, she won the Sept. 12 Locust Grove Stakes at Churchill Downs. Her Fleur De Lis victory in the Breeders' Cup Challenge race over Distaff rival Yahilwa came June 13 at Churchill at odds of 32-1, and was followed by a runner-up finish to fellow Distaff contender Sheer Drama in the July 18 Delaware Handicap (gr. I) at Delaware Park.

"She's a big, strong filly, and that's why we worked seven days out (from the Distaff) instead of a little closer, because we wanted to do a little more solid work," Oliver said. "I thought she went sensational."

Oliver, who is the daughter of breeder/owner G. Watts Humphrey, breezes many of her own horses.

"I'm comfortable with it and know them very well," she said. "And if I don't get the time I want, I can only yell at myself for screwing it up."
