Odeliz Too Tough in Lydia Tesio

Description:
Odeliz overtook Sound of Freedom and held on to notch her second group I victory in the Premio Longines Lydia Tesio (Ity-I) Oct. 25 at Capannelle in Rome.

Dominant winner in the Prix Jean Romanet (Fr-I) in August at Deauville two starts back, Odeliz was in control nearing the final furlong under Adrie de Vries and held sway, finishing in 2,000 meters (about 1 1/4 miles) in 2:00.60 on soft turf. Via Pisa was third in the eight-horse field.

Trained by British-based Karl Burke for Barbara Keller, Odeliz has a 6-5-2 record from 23 career starts that includes her runner-up finish in last year's E.P. Taylor (Can-I) at Woodbine

A 5-year-old Falco mare, Odeliz was bred in Ireland by Aleyrion Bloodstock from the unraced Efisio mare Acatama, a half sister to U.S. multiple grade I winner and graded producer Amorama.
