Following the scratch of Beholder from the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I), oddsmaker Mike Battaglia has lowered Triple Crown winner American Pharoah's morning-line odds from 6-5 to 4-5.
Beholder, Spendthrift Farm's two-time champion, had been installed the 3-1 second choice before trainer Richard Mandella announced Oct. 29 she would be scratched after an endoscopic exam detected she had bled, indicating lung irritation.
