Winter is right around the corner, but colder weather shouldn’t stop you from flaunting some fashion at the track! Below are five looks that are perfect for a day at the races during chillier months; the best part of these outfits is that there isn’t an item that costs more than $50 to be found! I love finding clothes that leave me plenty of cold, hard cash for playing the ponies.

Pants are always a good choice when the mercury dips below comfort level; I love the flowiness (I’m pretending that’s a word) of these $22 trousers from WearAll, which I paired with a wide belt ($48, Fossil) and a cropped fisherman’s sweater ($20, BooHoo.) I am obsessed with this wrap-inspired coat for just $11 from New Chic; it’s so dramatic, which makes it perfect for a day at the track! The White Line Footwear booties are only $25, the handbag from Go Jane looks much more expensive than its $25 price tag, and the Portolano cashmere-blend leather-cuffed gloves are smartphone-friendly as well as affordable at just $24. Finish the look off with a pair of $34 earrings from The Sak and a $31 wool H&M hat, and you’re off to the races for a total of $240 from head to toe.

I really, really like this look: it has a little bit of an edge to it while still being a perfect ensemble for a day at the track. The H&M knit dress is $20, and I added a pair of slate-grey tights for $13 from Maurice’s; they’re worth the dough, too, because they’re fleece-lined, so you’ll be nice and toasty all day. The combat boots ($31, CiCi Hot) are both on-trend and comfortable, and the studded tote from Style Moi is a steal at $39. The moto jacket is $33, and it will be useful all winter long and through the spring with so many different looks. The statement shades ($9.99) are from ShopZeroUV.com, the Phase Three beanie is $18 and I accessorized with tons of silver rings. Clockwise starting from the set of three on top, they are: Mango, $15; Karen Kane, $32; Kwanli, $30; Style Moi, $23; and Jewel Exclusive, $7.99. Altogether, this look is yours for $271.98.

How adorable is this midi skirt for $17 from Zaful? I want it immediately. I paired it with an H&M sleeveless turtleneck for $12 and some Nine West pumps for $45. Layer this crazy-chic trench for just $47 by Rotita, then fit everything you want to bring in the $47 tote by Anne Klein. The earrings are $36 from Alchemy Jewelry, the sunnies are $9.99 from ShopZeroUV.com and the race day-ready fascinator is $45 from Sur la Tete. All this can be yours for $258.99!

This $41 LE3NO coat is sensational, and it will work just as well with a dress (like this $18 SheIn number) as it would with a more casual look. I added a pair of subtly polka-dotted tights for $19 from Lany Bryant, a pair of Felicia 14 knee-high boots for $46 and a showstopper of a handbag by Zaful for just $35. Ward off the cold with a pair of $25 Merona gloves, and finish off the look with a pair of $30 Betsy Johnson earrings and a handmade felt fascinator from Generic for $38. All in all, this look comes to just $252, which should leave you plenty of extra money for a cocktail and a bet!

Love jeans? Me, too! Here’s a great way to incorporate denim into your racetrack look and still feel stylish. The denim is somehow only $7.69 from H&M (how?!) and I layered a simple tank from Miss Selfridge for $14 under this delicious-looking cardigan for $30 from Zaful. Cinch it with a braided belt for $20 by Uniqlo, then add a comfy pair of lined boots for $32 from Go Jane. The hobo bag is $39 from Charming Charlie, and the floppy felt hat is $8.05 by Seductive. Complete the ‘70s feel of the look with lots of antiqued rings – are you sensing a pattern here? From the top going clockwise, they are: Ruby Sage, $12; Topshop, $18; Bling Jewelry, $19; Sparkling Sage, $15; and From St Xavier, $45. This look comes to a total of $259.74, which is pretty incredible given how many pieces are in play here!
